Emergency Order #1 Postponement of National Convention March 23, 2020

  The National Executive Council (NEC) is issuing this Emergency Order in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In light of the current situation, the 2020 AMFA National Convention will be postponed to a later date, to be determined by the NEC. The Council has sought guidance from the Department of Labor, Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management Standards, to ensure our actions remain in conformance with federal law. To that extent, despite the postponement of the National Convention, the procedures and timeline prescribed in the AMFA Constitution for the National Officer Election will still be followed. Further details about the nominations process will be communicated to the Locals and delegates by April 10. This order has been made in the interest of the health and safety of our members, union leaders, and Association.
