Assistant National Directors Monthly Report for June, 2010
Updated
On: Jul 07, 2010 (10:07:00)

Assistant National Directors Monthly Report for June, 2010 Dear Members, June was a great month. During this month I participated in all NEC conference calls. Numerous hours were spent on the SWA 401K issues, trying to improve the amount and the quality of options that are offered to the AMFA members at Southwest Airlines. Several days were spent on organizing and the development of an AMFA Web store for our members, or soon to be members, where they can purchase AMFA logo items for their use or as gifts to family and friends. Time was also spent on the preparation of my article for the Grapevine, my monthly reports, and several other worthy causes for the members of AMFA. Read More Here

Mesaba Airlines Sale to Pinnacle Airlines
Posted
On: Jul 06, 2010 (17:22:36)

Mesaba Airlines Sale to Pinnacle Airlines Dear Members: Today’s announcement that Mesaba Aviation Inc. (the Company) has been acquired by Pinnacle Airlines Corporation generated a number of questions on how the transaction will affect Mesaba’s Technicians. The short answer is that the sale of the Company should not impact AMFA represented employees in the near term. Key to that answer is an understanding of the corporate landscape created by the transaction. Prior to the transaction, Mesaba was a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines (Delta was Mesaba’s "parent company") and Pinnacle Airlines Corp. was the parent company for two (2) regional carriers: Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. and Colgan Air, Inc. With the sale of Mesaba to Pinnacle Airlines Corp., Mesaba becomes a third subsidiary of the holding company that is Pinnacle Airlines, Corp. In Pinnacle’s press release to investors, Pinnacle’s CEO confirmed that Mesaba will remain a separate entity headquartered in Eagan, MN and retain its current management. Read More Here

National Secretary/Treasurer’s Monthly Report for June 2010
Posted
On: Jul 06, 2010 (08:20:37)
National Secretary/Treasurer’s Monthly Report for June 2010 Dear Members: The last week of June, the NEC held our weekly conference call and the following day I travelled to Local
32 in PHX. I had the honor of swearing in the new Local Vice President Frank Amore. Congratulations Frank and thank you for stepping up to fill this position. I would also like to thank the former Vice President Mike Nelson for his dedicated service to AMFA and its members. Before becoming, VP Mike also served as the Locals Airline Representative. Mike has taken a position with SWA at another station outside of Local 32. I also attended the Local 32 Membership Meeting and prior to the start of the meeting the Local presented four retirees with B737 Fan Blade Retirement Plaques. These are unique and beautiful works of art that I am sure they will cherish. Read More Here
