The Local Safety and Standards Chair will coordinate the duties and functions of the Local Safety and Standards Committee. The Chair will act as a liaison between the Local, Government and Academic entities. Through Local meetings, newsletters and other means, they will keep the members informed of all matters relating to safety and standards. The Chair will be directly responsible for the safety and health issues affecting the Local membership. The Chair will coordinate activities with the National Safety and Standards Chair. They shall periodically provide briefing reports to the National Safety and Standards Director. The Chair will investigate any and all complaints of the members regarding any unsafe and potentially unsafe condition. The Chair may designate members of the Safety and Standards committee to investigate these same complaints. The Chair will report all investigations to the LEC, requesting a grievance if a condition persists. The chair will oversee the Crash Investigation Committee as required.
