Mesaba Airlines Sale to Pinnacle Airlines

 

 

Dear Members:

Today’s announcement that Mesaba Aviation Inc. (the Company) has been acquired by Pinnacle Airlines Corporation generated a number of questions on how the transaction will affect Mesaba’s Technicians. The short answer is that the sale of the Company should not impact AMFA represented employees in the near term.

Key to that answer is an understanding of the corporate landscape created by the transaction. Prior to the transaction, Mesaba was a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines (Delta was Mesaba’s "parent company") and Pinnacle Airlines Corp. was the parent company for two (2) regional carriers: Pinnacle Airlines, Inc. and Colgan Air, Inc. With the sale of Mesaba to Pinnacle Airlines Corp., Mesaba becomes a third subsidiary of the holding company that is Pinnacle Airlines, Corp. In Pinnacle’s press release to investors, Pinnacle’s CEO confirmed that Mesaba will remain a separate entity headquartered in Eagan, MN and retain its current management. Read More Here
